At the public meeting on April 26th, Rev’d David Morgan, assistant curate from St Faith’s Church, gave an introduction to the intriguing proposal to redevelop the grounds of the church at the heart of the town. The intention, currently still at an early draft stage, is to open the use of the churchyard, not just for church events but potentially for the use of the wider community.
At the south east corner of the churchyard, to the bottom right of the concept drawing above, is a circular feature described as the ‘Wheel of the Year’. The illustration below gives an indication of how such a feature might look.
These illustrations are from an internal church prospectus – the ‘God’s Acre’ project – which was used to model the concept. HCS will watch this ‘work in progress’ with great interest and look forward to bringing you further detail as the idea progresses.
