HCS has been following the long-delayed proposals for redevelopment of the Oak Park site for many years now, and former councillor and local campaigner Ann Buckley has been more active than most in keeping it in the public eye. See this HCS report from five years ago: Oak Park Hospital site update – Havant Civic Society.
It appears that there may now be some movement, albeit for a small part of the site. For the next week, Perseus Land and Developments Limited are consulting the community on their proposal to provide a new care home on Land at Lavant Drive, Havant. Perseus Land and Developments profess to be a leading developer in the development of bespoke residential accommodation for older people, including care homes.
The plans are in draft form and they would welcome any feedback that you may have as they finalise their proposals and prepare to submit a formal planning application. Their vision is to deliver a new and bespoke 86-bedroom care home, that will help to provide much needed accommodation for the residents of Havant, and provide opportunities for local residents to remain living locally when their care needs increase.

For those unfamiliar with the site, the proposed location is highlighted by the red circle on the map below. Like the rest of the former Oak Park Secondary School site, it has been vacant for some time and along with the adjoining site has long been allocated in successive iterations of the Havant Borough Local Plan for care development.

The only detail publicly available ahead of the planning application submission is the schematic plan view shown above. To view the leaflet that has been circulated to a limited number of households in the immediate vicinity of the site, please click the image below:
This limited consultation is running for a short time until 21 June and contact details can be found in the leaflet should you wish to contact the agent with your thoughts and comments.
We expect that the development application and its supporting detail will be published as a newly validated planning application in due course. At that time, we will bring you the important details via the HCS website and you will have the usual 21 day period to enter your comments and register your support, or otherwise, via the HBC Planning System.
