Our Committee Member for Planning was making a routine search of the local properties recently and came up with the following interesting opportunities in or close to the heart of St Faith’s.
The first is Langstone Lodge, at 1 Langstone High Street. A planning application for demolition and replacement, like-for-like, was refused in September 2024, while a separate plan for an extension to add additional residential accommodation to an existing outbuilding was approved.
It seems now that the owner has put up the entire derelict site for sale by auction, together with an artist impression of what might be developed on the whole plot. Check out the pictures below, or if you’ve got the guide price of £1,250,000 burning a hole in your pocket, click here to see the details.
The second set of properties is one we’ve covered before, although we note that two years ago, these properties in South Street had been presented in a planning application drawn by PDP Architects. The sales literature suggests that a separate set of drawings has been compiled by Critchley Architecture and Design.

This one would result in the loss of a few local businesses from the town centre, one of which being MG-Imaging, the local, family run business whose fine array of printing machinery would be hard pressed to find a competitive, alternative site within easy reach of town centre residents, small businesses and this particular residents’ association.
It seems that the owner of the site has changed direction, at least looking at the material presented by Tully’s Estate Agents, and now proposes to flog the lot off as a development prospect at what looks like an attractive price.
Lastly, we note that the entire corner of Park Road South and West Street has been sold, subject to contract, with an asking price of £2,500,000. If it provides an opportunity to relocate Domino’s to a site better suited to its collection and delivery traffic, then we might breathe a sigh of relief. As an important town centre corner, it’s an interesting opportunity for the town, particularly if the existing small businesses can be relocated back into the centre of St Faith’s.
